We've rebranded! Read to see why we went back to our roots

Let’s jump in the way-back machine.  Back In 1959, Ernst “Ernie" Morgenstern established Pleasant Bag Company to recycle agriculture bags. The company was named for the founding location on Pleasant Ave in Fresno, California. Ernie and his wife Greta were refugees from WWII Europe. Ernie, a true entrepreneur, was trying to feed his family any way he could. From it's founding in old “out-buildings,” Pleasant Bag Company became PleasantFurniture and Mattress Co. Ernie’s son, Herb, eventually took over the reigns and during his leadership, Herb (second generation) successfully launched the Cannon Sleep Products brand under the Pleasant Mattress umbrella.  

Today Pleasant Mattress is a portfolio company with multiple brands both licensed and created by us. The success of those brands has caused some confusion between the brands and the company that manufacturers and services them. Our choice to return the focus of our company name back to Pleasant Mattress is to eliminate that confusion and bring attention to the hard work and dedication built by multiple generations. The fundamentals of hard work, creativity, and great customer service still thrive even as this company has grown and evolved for nearly 60 years.  It’s our promise to our customers that no matter which brand they buy from us, they know they are getting the quality and the service they deserve and can depend on.  

The most visible part of our rebranding is our new logo. The logo was designed to communicate the longevity of the company and the trust that we have built with our customers. I’m very proud of the logo and I hope you like it. As always, thank you for your support and patronage as we evolve and change.
